This is the recipe from "The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook". SO EASY!!! My kids have always loved this, they are 15 and 11. Originally it called for 3TBS oil, I use 2, but I'm sure you could use less. A little indulgence doesn't hurt. I use olive oil because I LOVE it.

I really enjoyed this. Can't quite convince my DH to try much of anything with TVP, but I liked it! :) The flavor & consistency were good. I halved the recipe & followed mostly as written, although I just eyeballed all of the seasonings. It was also really easy to make. I'm looking forward to leftovers later this week. Thanks for posting.

I switched this up a bit, but i think it was GREAT!!! First of all, I cut the recipe in half which made 5 nice size sandwiches. I added 1 grated carrot (extra veggie oomph). Also took the suggestion of others and subbed out about 1/3 of the tomato sauce with ketchup. I also added a couple shakes of cinnamon (GREAT addition), subbed Stevia for the sugar, subbed Braggs for the soy (and doubled the amt), added a little vinegar for tang, added 1 T of BBQ sauce for smoke flavor and added some garlic powder. Awesome stuff and the leftovers on day two were almost better than on day one. Thanks for posting.

I halved the recipe and added 2-3 Tbsp of homemade barbecue sauce. I didn't have prepared mustard so I added 1 tsp of ground mustard. It was super easy to make - great for a weeknight. My husband, a reluctant vegan, said, "This is delicious!" I served it on rolls, but I think it would make a good topping for rice too.
