A very good salad that is very simple to make and very different from the ordinary iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing. This salad is one of my favorites.

Directions

  1. Toast pine nuts.
  2. Chop red onion, tomato, red pepper, and fresh basil.
  3. Combine with the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and capers.
  4. Mix ingredients together until evenly coated and then place on a bed of washed red leaf and romaine.
  5. Top with toasted pine nuts and serve.
