directions

  • Place water and sugar in a large enough pot to boil the water.
  • Make sure you allow room, because boiling coffee tends to want to boil up and over.
  • Once boil is achieved, add coffee, very slowly, and decrease heat.
  • Stir coffee very frequently.
  • When making it, I let it comes to a boil and when it starts to boil up the pot I take it off the burner for 2 seconds, then repeat the steps 3-4 times.
  • Serve in demitasse cups.
  • *Do not leave coffee boiling on stove unattended, it WILL boil over*.
  • *If serving for a large group, just double or triple the recipe accordingly*.

  2. Chef Fifi, I really enjoyed this flavored coffee. Love the addition of cardamom it really takes this coffee some place special. Quick and easy to make. I will be making this often. Thank you for sharing this lovely treat. Made for Comfort Cafe - Chalet /10

  3. This is a very tasty drink. It's a nice change from a regular cup of coffee.

  4. In our home we refer to this type of coffee as Greek. Your recipe Fifi, seems to be more effective in obtaining the "Wish" or face of foam on the top of the poured coffee. I believe it may be because you boil the water first. I use a Kanaka which is a narrow necked coffee pot made of copper, and my tip to ensure that the coffee grounds remain at the bottom of the cup is to add a few drops of rosewater to each cup. With the cardamom this tastes wonderful!! Thank you so much for this recipe, an essential after a Friday evening meal!

  5. Cardamom in anything is going to be good. At least for me! I drink my coffee black and unsweetened but with this strong coffee I suggest the sugar! I strained it into a regular coffee cup for I don`t have a demitasse cup! Thanks for the boost!
