Made this tonight, and it is FANTASTIC; tastes EXACTLY like Applebee's Tomato Basil soup. Only changes I made: 5tsp dried basil for the fresh, and 2/3tsp dried parsley for the fresh as well. I also cut the sugar in half, just to make certain that the soup didn't become over-sweetened. About 1/6c of sugar worked quite well, and the soup didn't taste like candy. Absolutely LOVED it.
Sidenote: I used Food Lion brand crushed tomatoes, and there was no metallic aftertaste.
