My Hubby and I used to spend every Saturday night at Trudy's munching on chips and salsa and drinking these. Sadly, we had to move to Houston and we haven't found a place that makes a mexican martini that even comes close to this. Thank You so much Amy, for the memories.

Pepper, my cockatiel, sneaked a few sips. Even just a little makes him a little too chatty. He had the nerve to comment that upon his observations, he saw me eyeing the 'Old Spice Man'. That bird mocks me. Made for All You Can Cook Buffet-Special Event Tag.

If you are ever in Austin, try it at Trudys. It will be a drink to remember!!

Yum! I used El Jimador gold, cause that's what I had, and an Austin-made orange liquor (Paula's). What a great copycat recipe...thanks! :-P

Try this with Herradura Anjeo if you like the aged tequila. I have been drinking them for years. An Austin original and fantastic.

Totally agree on the close to the original...Trudy's makes the best Mex Martinis in town and this a close winner! We love them....now I don't have to go there all the time when I want one!

We spent a year and a half living in Austin, and Trudy's was our favorite restaurant, the mexican martini our cocktail of choice. Imagine my dismay when we moved back to NJ seven years ago, not able to find a drink even close to this one! I've been looking for this recipe for seven years, and it is the real deal. Thanks!
