I just got done making these, and it was really easy and fun! I made mine cherry and orange. I didn't want to bother with individually wrapping them, so I dusted them in powdered sugar instead, and though they're still sticking a bit it's helping I think. I will be making these again.

Not a recipe to make by yourself! I made this with my mother and two sisters, we divided it into halves instead of thirds, this seemed to work better. Also used different flavorings (watermelon). The vanilla half was excellent! as was the watermelon half. Definitly best to use a bench scraper when the mixture is cooling. I used a spatula and it made a enormous mess. We used a knife to cut the ropes into pieces. Some hardened before we could cut them, but after placing them in a ziploc bag we dropped them on the cold tile floor and they broke into perfect size pieces. Thanks for posting the recipe Theresa, my sister's loved being able to make taffy just like Grandma use to.
