This is an awesome dip! I usually put the tomatoes, green onions, and olive on after it comes out of the oven though.
My hubby ADORES this...great for the weekend! He actually yells out "touchdown" when he sees it....tee hee!
This was just ok for my family. I did follow the recipe but we felt it was missing something. We did not like this combination warmed up. Maybe as other reviewers suggested a layer of ground beef would have been better. I think I will stay with a taco dip that is not warmed up, and not this recipe.
We also added in a layer of taco flavored hamburger and topped with green jumbo olives. Served up in wraps
This looks really pretty when served and you can't go wrong with the fresh chopped toppings. However, this just was not for me. I really wanted to like this, but I did not like the taste or the consistency of the cream cheese/sour cream/onion mixture. It kinda spoiled this for me. Maybe I will try this again, but I will leave out the sour cream and onions.
Really really good dip. Don't skimp on the fresh toppings... they really make a difference. Next time I may add some cumin and cayenne pepper to the refried bean layer.
This is great! My husband doesn't like refried beans so I substitute either lean hamburger or ground chicken. I also leave out the Cilantro(none of us like it) This is a great meal for a lazy Friday movie night. Thanks for sharing!
I've made this twice so far and both times I added 1lb of browned ground beef on top of the sour cream mixture. Excellent recipe! Easy to prepare too!
I made this for my Pampered Chef party about 2 years ago, and had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder. As I recall, the dish was licked clean!
We all loved it!! It was super easy. Can't wait to make it again.
