directions

  • Brown beef, drain and add Taco seasoning as directed on package. While meat is simmering heat refried beans in microwave - I use low fat butter to thin them a little.
  • Spread beans on bottom of deep baking dish, top with beef, then cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes until bubbly. Serve on warm tostados with sides so people can fix them as they like.

  1. One of the best mexican meals I have fixed. It was easy and very very good! I did burn the tostadas in the microwave when I tried to heat them up, but truthfully they taste better not heated up:) Thank you! Fabulous Dish! :)

  2. Very good. I probably wouldn't cook quite as long so it's more moist and add the cheese the last few minutes. All three kids loved it!

I work from home as owner of a successful startup company and one of favorite ways to relax is in the kitchen cooking with a glass of wine. I love collecting and trying recipes. We have a huge family and one of my favorite things to do is having everyone over for huge family meals - everyone looks forward to the chance to get together and eat way too much. I do a lot of themed gatherings just for fun (example: Father's Day Fajita Fiesta with Fajita's, Queso, Guacamole, Spanish Rice, Beans, homemade tortilla's and margaritas). I'm Italian but I'm a Texas native and I love all kinds of foods from Greek to Mexican.
