Tortilla Triangles With Avocado Salsa

"A quick to make recipe from Kurma Dasa's '52 Quick Vegetarian cards'. When I make these, I'll be leaving out all those hot ingredients, but I know I'm undoubtedly in a minority in this taste preference so I'm posting the recipe as on the card! The reviewers so far, I have noted, have omitted the asafetida powder. The Zaar Kitchen Dictionary says that garlic powder or onion powder can be used as a substitute."

  1. This was a great salsa! I used bagged tortilla chips and left out the lettuce as per previous reviews as I was taking this on a picnic and didn't want to risk soggy lettuce. Good, fresh flavours, with just enough of a kick.

  2. This is a very nice salsa. (I didn't made the tortilla chips) I didn't really care for the added lettuce because it became soggy. I left out the asafetida powder also because I didn't have any, but other than that stuck with the recipe as written. I served this along side tacos and a Mexica Pizza. Thanks bluemoon :) Made for Gimme 5

  3. A really easy and fresh salsa! I used smoked paprika instead of the dried chile, and subbed both onion and garlic powder (couldn't decide! ha) for the asafetida powder. Awesome find, will be making often! Tagged for the February '09 1-2-3 tag.

  4. We really liked this Salsa. The flavor was good, unfortunately I didn't have any asafetida powder either. I tagged this recipe in the 1-2-3 tag and am glad I did.

  5. This was really good! I ate the whole amount of salsa, because I didn't think it would keep too well with the lettuce in it. But that was okay by me! I left out the asafetida powder too, don't have any. Loved the taste of the chipotle pepper! Thanks!

July 2008 update: VERY happy to be back on Zaar after about a two year absence due to having had no internet connection at home, and having been too unwell for a time so that getting re-connected wasn't even a priority! <br> <br>And really looking forward to getting back into the Zaar world and connecting again with the many wonderful people I knew before, and new people, of course!
