This was outstanding! I served this for New Year's Eve. I also did not fry the tortellini. I prepared them according to the package directions and then tossed them in a little olive oil. I served them with little skewers and the garlic sauce. Delicious!!

We thought this was terrific! We used one package of chicken & cheese tortellini as well as a three cheese tortellini. There was plenty of dip left of crackers or veggies. We served the dip at room temperature as well. Thanks for posting this one!

This was delicious, as well as something a bit different. I prepared it exactly as written, although I couldn't find the fresh tri-color pasta, so mine wasn't as pretty as Gayla's photo. I used Frank's Red Hot Sauce and used the full 2 tablespoons and it was not too hot. (Gayla, you were correct - Frank's isn't as hot as Tobasco, but more flavorful. Thanks for the tip!) I boiled the tortellini and prepared the sauce early in the day and then refrigerated it. So all I had to do before dinner was saute the pasta a few minutes while I warmed the sauce in the microwave. I served it with the yummy roasted garlic sauce and also some homemade marinara I had left over. It was great with both! Thank you so much for sharing this easy and delicious recipe Gayla!

Just got back from serving this as a Christmas Eve appetizer. Everyone loved it. I didn't have the courage to add 2 tablespoons of hot sauce to the approximate 1 cup of sauce. I just thought it would be too hot for our tastes. I added only 1 teaspoon of hot sauce but you couldn't really taste it at all. It was still really good. There was enough sauce for two 9-ounce packages of tortellini and I feel confident that you could stretch it to three 9-ounce packages of tortellini.
