OH YUM!!!!! This was so good. I think that I will be looking for excuses to make this sauce again! I used this as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken breast tenders. It was really easy to make, I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out wonderful. Not to spicy, but just enough heat, slightly sweet, a burst of lime flavor......just wonderful. Thank you so much for this recipe, it a keeper!
ZOWIE!!! This recipe is spot on FANTASTIC. Just the right amount of "heat" for us on-the-milder-side chicken wing eaters. I, too, love the more vinegar than hot and I will never make these any other way from now on. Followed the recipe precisely. YUMMY!! 5 stars!!
We were disappointed with the results of this recipe. First of all, the amount of butter to be included is not clear, as the ingredients list calls for one amount (eight tablespoons) and the directions specify another (four tablespoons). I used the lesser amount. In addition, despite the amount of lime juice, lime zest, and sweeteners included, the final product had notes of neither. We found it to taste the same as straight hot sauce with a bit of butter added, which is your basic boring "Buffalo wing" sauce. Perhaps the greater amount of butter would have been better.
