- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 large egg
- 1 (14 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup raisins
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts (optional)
directions
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Add tomato soup and egg and mix well.
- Then add all the dry ingredients and mix together.
- Place in a greased 8 x 8 inch baking pan (or a 9 x13 inch) and bake in a 325 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.
