I think this recipe comes from a Parade Magazine.
- 8 fresh tomatoes
- 1 medium onion
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 3⁄4 cup malt vinegar or 3⁄4 cup cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Chop tomatoes and onions. Combine with other ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
- Cook, partially covered, over low heat for 20 minutes. Mash. Simmer until thickened.
- Serve with any Indian dish except one which features tomatoes.
