  1. Brown meat and drain fat.
  2. Saute celery and onion until tender.
  3. Add rest of ingredients.
  4. Cook 2 hours or until lentils are soft.

SOOO good. My husband requested that I make lentil soup and I had never made it before. Wow!! It was great. We ate it the next day, and I did add some chili powder and cumin for some extra zing, along with some cabbage. I HIGHLY recommend trying this soup. Thanks for a great recipe!

YUUUMMMMY! Followed exactly and sure did clear the sinus. The kids did not like the peppery taste but DH and myself thoroughly enjoyed. So next time will have to make adjustment on the fresh coarse ground black pepper so the entire family enjoys.

Wonderful! DD ate 2 bowls and she's not a big eater. I've been told that I will have to make this again. And I will. I used more than a cup of carrots as I chopped to much and I only had a little bit of lentils left in the bag so I ended using it all, about 1 1/3 c. Cabbage would taste good in this as well and I may add some another time. Thanks for a great recipe.
