Excellent! Used diced toatoes rather than crushed and added freshed diced at the end. Will make again with milk rather than cream to cut the calories....I actually tried it before I added the cream and it was delicicious just lake that. Also may try with basil rather than thyme. Everyone loved it.....so long Cambells!

Wonderful Tomato soup! Generally the only commercial tomato soup I like is Amy's Organic Tomato Bisque but at $3.49 per can (single serving) it can get costly. I like this one every bit as much for less than half the price! Total winner in this house.

I made this tonight for 120 people at my church. (Have to love that serving # adjust feature on the web site.) I did not substitute anything other than to use regular chicken broth rather than low sodium and subsequently cut back on the additional salt. I couldn't find low sodium chicken broth in 48 oz cans. Also I used my stick blender to puree the soup after adding the tomatoes to the onions but before adding the broth - just because my regular size stick blender would not have been adequate if I had waited until all the liquid was added.
This soup received raves. We were having a relatively simple lenten supper of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, and people kept coming back for more soup. My five year old even finished his tomato soup. I will definitely try this at home in smaller quantities.

This soup was incredibly easy to make. I do think it tasted a bit much like eating creamy pasta sauce straight out of the jar, but I added a bit more cream and tossed some really flaky crescent rolls on top and it was amazing. I will definitely use this recipe again.

We really enjoyed this recipe... My husband is a big fan of Tomato Bisque to I gave it a try... it was a big hit... I made a few modifications because of what i had on hand. I used regular sodium chx broth, and dry thyme. We were very impressed and will be making this again. Thanx

Turned out very underseasoned once I added the cream to the soup, I was looking for something creamy and rich and wound up with what tasted very much like pasta sauce. I added some balsamic vinegar and more cream some parmesagn cheese and salt to the dish wich helped out a lot. Probably will not make this dish again.

This is a great tasting, very tomato soup. I left the soup chunky, the next time I will blend it. I didn't have heavy cream so I used milk and a little cream cheese. I also used dried herbs. I'll be making this often this winter.

I'm giving this 4 stars because I thought it was a 5 and my bf thought it was a 3. I loved the creaminess of it and I think all the ingredients blended well together. He thought the onion was over powering and it wasn't sweet enough. I will definitely make this again but try to tweak it to suit his tastes a bit more.

This was a delicious, sweet tomato soup I made for my family. I used a smaller can of tomatoes and then peeled and chopped up a couple cups of tomatoes to substitute for the rest. This way I was able to use up some of my tomatoes that were going soft. I didn't have fresh thyme so I just sprinkled in about an eighth to a fourth of a teaspoon of dried thyme. This was a delicious dinner in addition to some rolls and cornbread!

Oh yum. This is so easy to make and has such good flavor. I have made this several times now. If I feel like having a really nice meal without all the effort I whip up this soup. I serve it with roast beef sandwiches with suated bellpeppers/onion mix. Then dip the sandwich into the soup, take a bite and go into a, "oh my god this is so good," trance. Thank you.

The stars are really messing me up, I can't figure out how to make it give 5 stars!! So I'm sorry if for some reason it gives less than that. This was a great soup - I was aiming for something that tasted like the Tuscan tomato bisque from Safeway and this soup, with a couple dashes of Tabasco sauce, seemed pretty darn close to me! Thanks!!

My husband and I had a delightful tomato bisque at our favorite local French restaurant. This recipe is as close to the restaurant's version as I could ever wish it to be! Delicious!

After a recent surgery, I needed some easy-to-make comfort food. This soup, along with a grilled cheese sandwich, gave me just what I was looking for. I only had diced tomatoes, and I used dried thyme. Instead of salt and pepper, I added some of Paula Deen's House Seasoning (garlic, salt, and pepper blend). I pureed all of it since I had big chunks of tomatoes. It was still somewhat chunky but it had a great thick texture. I will definitely make this again and again. Thanks for posting!

What a delicious recipe! By far the best tomato soup I've ever had! All the ingredients compliment each other so well. I found that I really didn't need to blend the soup because it was smooth enough for me. Thank you for this excellent recipe! I have already made it twice and will be making it quite often! No more canned tomato soup lunches!

This is the best soup I have ever had. It is delicious and so easy. I used dried thyme and parsley rather than fresh. I usually serve this with perogies and when served with something else it makes 4 servings rather than 2. I also froze some extra soup once and it was still excellent warmed up. Even with the cream it froze surprisingly well.

This is great! I made it (with two small changes - used dried thyme and whole milk instead of cream) when a friend stopped over to pick up her child after a play date and she stayed to eat with us. We all loved it and she asked for the recipe! This will be one I make often. Thanks for sharing.

Very tasty and beautiful too. No major changes, just increased the garlic and used diced tomatoes instead of crushed. Also, I had some fresh basil and mint, so added about 2 T. of chiffonade when I blended the soup.
