Love this!! I did try lime salt and found it was also good instead of the salt and pepper. I also used celery for the stirrer. I'm a big fan of bloody mary's and this is another drink to add to my list.
I love red beer:) I use either plain tomato juice or one of the V8 variations, a sprinkle of lemon pepper or Morton's Nature's Seasoning. Haven't made it with hot sauce yet. I tend to drink a few less drinks if I have this because the tomato juice tends to be a bit filling:)
We call these red beers, and they are a staple at our local pub. Try a little Montreal Steak Seasoning instead of plain salt and pepper, if you want a bit more kick.
Where I come from, we call this a Red-Eye. My husband looooves them as a hangover cure. Hair of the dog and all that. I think they're gross, but I don't like tomato juice either :)
Beer purists may sneer, but as disgusting as it sounds, this is very like a Bloody Mary, but lighter. A dash of Tabasco adds character. It's really quite good. Try it.
