I chose this recipe to make this week and as I was cooking it, realized it is similar to one I have posted. The exceptions are the addition of pepperoni slices and Parmesan cheese, so I went ahead and added the pepperoni, and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese at the end. This is a wonderful, filling soup.

Delicious, I wasn't sure about the diced tomatoes because I don't like cooked tomatoes (the texture, not the flavor)but this was wonderful. I loved the flavor so what I did was puree 3/4 of the soup once it cooled a little then added it back to the pot with the other 1/4. I was much happier with the texture. The flavor was incredible, thanks for sharing. It was a nice change on a cold snowy night, made me want to be in the garden......come on spring! Thanks Jilibean! 4/24/13-just an update, we loved this so much I made a few batches and froze them with the tortellini separately, just defrosted and cooked up ,it was still fabulous. I have added it to my freeze ahead OMC because it did so well. Thanks again.

Simply amazing flavor. My pickiest soup eater noted it was delicious. First time I've used fresh basil in recipe - wow! Did chop 2 celery stalks and also diced 1/2 onion which I added at the beginning to the soup. Thank you for posting the recipe.

Absolutely delicious soup! I made a few changes; I added chopped celery and onion and I used beef a ricotta filled tortellini because that's all the store had that day! This was a big hit in my house, thanks for sharing!! :)

Thanks JiliBean. I've made this soup several times now. It is so fantastically easy, tastes great and a breeze to make. I do make it in the crock pot in the a.m. and the house smells fantastic when we get home in the evening.

Five stars all the way! This is great stuff. Followed exactly and wouldn't change a thing, love that it's low fat and healthy. I did use low sodium chicken broth & didn't add salt & pepper - really didn't need it. Thanks for sharing! :)

Great soup! I added 2 diced zucchinis. I used chicken and herb tortellini but a 20 oz. package. I added V-8 juice to make more of the soup part for all that tortellini. I also used Hunt's diced tomatoes with garlic, basil and oregano. Oh so good!

Wonderful soup. So simple but very flavorful. Smelled great while cooking. I used reduced sodium chicken broth and it was awesome. LOVE that it is also healthy and lowfat.

Wonderful aroma & flavor! I agree with previous poster, when reheating it's best to add a bit of extra water or broth. This soup is even better after reheating, just remember that the pasta will thicken it more to a stew consistancy, hence the added broth. Thank you for a terrific addition to my cookbook!
