Toll House Cookies (Ca. 1968)

READY IN: 35mins
Recipe by Countrywife

This was the first cookie recipe I made outside Home Ec class. I was in high school. We had a tiny, tiny kitchen with an apartment sized stove. My mom wasn't into cooking at all and didn't have baking sheets, so cookies got baked in a couple of pie tins, four at a time. I clipped this from the Nestle chocolate chip wrapper so many years ago. The recipe now is different.

I have not yet tried it but it looks like the really, truly original recipe that I've been searching for for many years. If it turns out well, I'll be ecstatic because my cookies have not been the same for many years. I remembered that water was missing but could not remember any more about the original recipe. I hope that Countrywife has answered my longstanding wish - to have the real, original recipe, not the "fake" that is now on the Toll House Morsels packages! So the 5 stars are anticipatory.
