I couldn't believe that I could not find directions on here for how to toast pine nuts! This is what I found elsewhere online. It's so simple and so tasty, both to add to other dishes, and to munch on!
- spread pine nuts out in a single layer on a lipped baking sheet.
- set on bottom rack of oven and broil for about 3-5 minutes.
Whenever we want toasted pine nuts, we use a small, nonstick skillet and low heat, stirring them every now and then to keep them from burning. It takes 6 or 7 minutes to toast them if the burner was already hot when we put them on. I think this might be faster (and probably more energy efficient) than using the oven, unless you're going to be using the oven for other things.
