Just grab your grapefruit spoon.

Directions

  1. Cut the grapefruit in half.
  2. Place cut- side - up on a baking tray and sprinkle a tablespoon of sugar over each half.
  3. Grill until sugar starts to bubble.

I used brown sugar. It took about 5 minutes under the broiler to bubble. Love it!

Would never have thought to 'toast' grapefruit, but this really does make for a very interesting & satisfying lead-in to the omelet breakfast we had! Will do this much more in the future, for sure! [Tagged, made & reviewed as a recipenap in the Vegetarian/Vegan Recipe Swap 16]
