Super! The roast was delicious, and oh, so easy - perfect for a busy weeknight. I followed the recipe exactly as written, and we didn't find it to be too salty. Next time I'll put some carrots and taters in with it for a one-pot meal, and I like it enough that I'd serve it when family comes to visit. It's going in the "tried and true" file!
I'm not much of a beef person, but I did enjoy this roast. Like others, I found it a bit salty the first time I made it. I have since modified the quantities of all mix packages to 1/2 of each. Much better!
Pretty good roast, however was extremely salty for my taste. Next time will play around with the amount of each mix.
The flavor of the roast was great, however I was unsure as to what size of a roast to get since it is not indicated in the recipe. I got a smaller roast (a little under 3 lbs) and it turned out a bit dry, probably because it cooked too long and I only cooked it for around 6 hrs. Though, I did like the mixture of seasonings (I used about half of all three packets) I prefer something I can make with spices I already have on hand. I also added carrots and celery halfway through cooking and they tasted wonderful.
Amazing and so easy!!!! Myhusband's favorite!! We add a little piece of a hot pepper to add a little kick.
So simple! I found that 1 full packet of the mixes was a bit much for a smaller roast - 31/2 lbs, so I used about half and kept the rest for the next time. Also the cooking time seemed a little long. I cut it back to 6 hours. Perfect!
Very tasty! It was my first attempt to cook pot roast. I used tender chuck roast 2.5 lbs cooked for 5 hrs on low. My roast turned out tough, I was expecting it to be tender. What did I do wrong?
It was a little salty at first, but absolutely great! We made pot roast sandwiches with the leftovers and it was even better the second time around! Definitly keeping this recipe! thanks!
I used a chuck roast and made it exactly as the directions stated. This is good but I'm not in love with it. Although DH is. It'll be perfect to use when I'm making shredded beef enchiladas, but as a pot roast, I thought it was a little boring.
