Finally got around to fixing this for dinner tonight. It was well worth the wait. Just like some of the others I only added 1/2 of the Italian dressing. The gravy was wonderful. This certainly deserves its place at the top.

Yooper, you have a winner here! The roast was tender and moist, and after having frozen some of the slices and broth for a couple of weeks, it came out just as juicy and tender when reheated as leftovers. I used a rump roast, put in 1 cup rather than 1/2 cup of water, and used only half of the dried Italian salad dressing mix. It was perfect. Thank you for this great recipe!

The meat was tender, but I didn't like the taste of it very much. I don't know if it was maybe because of the dressing mixes I used (I made my own Italian salad dressing mix, and bought a gravy mix with herbs).

I wasn't thrilled with this recipe. The flavors were okay, and it may have been the roast I used, but nobody in my house was impressed. I'm not sure I'll even try this one again. Meat wasn't tender, and we didn't think this one deserved the "to die for."

This roast was awesome! THe best recipe I have tried for roast yet! My family loved it. I followed the recipe exactly as written. In fact, I am having a dinner party this week and serving it for the main course. It is a real winner. I will be making it again and again. Thank you.

This recipe was terrific! I used an onion brown gravy mix, all of the ranch dressing mix, and about 3/4 of the italian mix. Mixed the ingredients and rubbed them onto a chuck eye roast and whenever it wouldn't stick to the meat any more I poured the rest of the mixes on top of the meat. I put about 3/4 cup of water around the meat and cooked on low for about 8 1/2 hours and it was delicious. As for the comments about being too salty, it was salty tasting, but not too salty for this family! Thanks for a great recipe.

My experience with this roast was a little disappointing. I followed the recipe to the letter other than adding some veggies for the last 3 hours of cooking. The roast was dry and didn't taste much different than the roast I usually make in the crockpot with salt and pepper as seasoning. I will probably try this again with less of the seasonings (as others have suggested) and maybe I will make the juice more of a gravy by adding browned flour when it is done.

It is a good thing I put this on early yesterday morning because by the time it was time to eat, we lost our power. Alicia and I enjoyed this very delicious roast by candle light. I didn't have a package of brown gravy mix but I did have a can of beef broth so used it and both packages of salad dressings. The flavor was excellent and made a very tasty gravy that I thicken with flour. Thanks yooper

This makes a very good roast. I cut back on the italian dressing mix and the ranch mix and it was perfect! I will use this recipe again.
