Tips to Keep Food from Sticking on Grill Grates

Found this tip in a newspaper..didn't quite believe it would work, till I tried it...managed to cook salmon without sticking or using foil...


  1. To keep seafood from sticking to the grill, slice a raw potato in half lengthwise.
  2. Once the grill is hot, slide the cut potato down the grill in one direction.
  3. The starch from the potato will coat the grill and make it non-stick!

This worked beautifully for plain salmon but not well for salmon coated with a barbecue sauce. I'll definitely use it again for plain meats though.
