I think that this is a perfect Chili recipe for those like me who don't like a lot of heat but enjoy great flavours. I had some difficulty with this but it was all of my own creation. I used pre-soaked dried beans and knew that they wouldn't cook in 15 minutes so added them with the tomato and spices. Even then I totally underestimated the time required to get the beans soft so that by the time the beans were soft the ground beef wasn't really the best texture. Totally my fault! It seems that I had especially wimpy chili powder because I ended up doubling the amount shown. The end result was a chili recipe that we will return to many times. Next time I'll cook the beans better first! Thanks for sharing Tina!

  1. break up beef in a dutch oven. add onion, garlic, bell pepper and celery. cook until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. add tomatoes, chili powder, sugar, accent, bay leaf, oregano, basil and hot sauce. cook for 30 minutes. add beans. cook 15 minutes longer.
