I made a few slight changes, but this is possibly one of the simplest, yet most delicious fish recipes I've ever made!! Both my boyfriend and I LOVED it! This is my second time making it, and this time I chopped up maybe a bit less than 1/4 of an onion (I was only making it for 2, though), and about 1/3 of a green bell pepper and sauteed them first. While those were cooking up a bit, I seasoned the fish (I used Orange Roughy) with pepper, garlic powder, a tiny bit of salt, and a bit of dried parsely. After I added the fish to the pan I added maybe 1/4 tsp. of chopped garlic to the TOP of each fish. I covered and then continued cooking. I didn't have any lemon juice, so I didn't use any...although I'm curious how it tastes with it on. The fish comes out with so much flavor, I love it! I've never thought of adding the chopped garlic to the top of something before, I'm so used to just adding it to the pan, but it really is so delicious!
I had it this way in San Jose Costa Rica when I first moved here. Its great and I continue to make it several times a month this way.
Nice, easy way to make tilapia. It's such a mild fish, so it really takes on the flavors of the lemon and garlic. I also sprinkled with Penzey's (best spice company ever) Northwoods seasoning blend, which has hungarian paprika in it, before pan searing. Didn't have any parsley on hand, but I think the fresh lemon is a must for this dish. Bravo.
Mmmm! I'm not a big seafood lover, but I bought some tilapia because my husband loves seafood. i wanted an easy recipe, and this fit the bill. It's easy, quick, and delicious! Also looks really pretty. I will definitely make this again.
super easy & flavorful. i scaled this recipe down to fit one serving, used only 1 clove of garlic and skipped the lemon. 5 minutes and it was done! thanks for an easy recipe!
It was quick and easy, and of course, healthy! wouldn't say it's my FAVORITE, but it might be because I'm not a big tilapia fan.
