These are one of my favorites Christmas cookies. So easy to make and so good. Thanks!

oh, how i LOVE thumbprint cookies. this recipe is very good! i used pecans and strawberry/rhubarb jam. i made some with pecans and some without, both delish! i did add 1 Tbs. of lemon juice to the batter just for a little "tart" (which complements the sweet of the jam). i keep going back for "one more" over and over again! two recommendations - make sure the nuts you use are VERY finely chopped - this will help them stick better to the small cookie. also, i would recommend doubling this recipe if you want to make enough to share!!

A keeper. Made me go "mmmm". I rolled some in coconut too. Raspberry jam is the best, but apple jelly is quite good too.

My mom used to make these when I was growing up. They are really delicious! Thanks for posting; couldn't seem to find my mom's recipe anywhere. I made 6 dozen for a cookie exchange using strawberry preserves and seedless blackberry fruit spread. Perfect for any holiday cookie tray! DH really likes them (he's glad there are some leftover for him)!

These are terrible! I make them, and I eat them all before I get the chance to share them with anyone! I LOVE THESE COOKIES! So light and tender and yummy. I didn't follow the recipe exactly though. I used a half cup of salted butter instead of the shortening and didn't use the nuts at all. Oh my, what a treat!

Simple and I had never had thumbprint cookies with nuts before. Fantastic, will be a new traditional cookie.

I had a bake sale, and decided to make these to sale. all of them were sold, or eaten! they are really good. plum jelly in the middle seems to be the best! FYI*** when you double the recipie it only makes 24. not 40. don't be fooled. otherwise they are this tiny little cookie you could eat in one-bite.

This was definately a good idea on my part to try these! I had a gathering of friends over so doubled the recipe. I should have tripled it as there was only crumbs on the cookie plates for my husband when he came home!! I used walnuts & raspberry jam, superb! I have alot of men in my family so I always make my cookies twice the size as a recipe calls for and these stayed together nicely but took about 10 mins for them to brown nicely. Excellent recipe!
