- 453.59 g lean ground beef
- salt and pepper
- 3 (1275.72 g) can dark red kidney beans
- 3 (1233.20 g) can Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
- 2 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 59.14 ml red wine vinegar
- 29.58 ml chili powder
- 4.92 ml ground cumin
- 4.92 ml dried parsley
- 4.92 ml dried basil
- 0.25 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 118.29 ml red wine
directions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until evenly browned.
- Drain off grease, and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- In a slow cooker, combine the cooked beef, kidney beans, tomatoes, celery, red bell pepper, and red wine vinegar.
- Season with chili powder, cumin, parsley, basil and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir to distribute ingredients evenly.
- Cook on High for 6 hours, or on Low for 8 hours.
- Pour in the wine during the last 2 hours.
