I love this cobbler! I use 1/2 cup sugar in mix and 1/4 cup on top with thawed frozen berries and it turns out wonderful.
This was fantastic! Reminded me of the blackberry cobbler that my dad makes, except the sugar on top gives it this nice crispy topping (I added the additional sugar at the end, as well). Can't wait to go blackberry picking so I can make this again. Now I need to find a great recipe for homeade vanilla bean ice cream!
I have made this cake with many different varieties of berries (frozen mixed berries, fresh cranberries at the holidays, blueberries when they are in season) and it has been delicious every time. I usually serve it warm with whipped cream. I also like that it requires just a few ingredients and can be whipped up in no time but tastes like it took more time and effort to prepare.
