My DD used to drink these all the time when we went out to dinner, she felt like a "big girl". The only difference is we called them a Shirley Temple cocktail but the same idea. I like the ginger ale a lot better than Sprite or 7-up and I only pour enough maraschino cherry juice to give the ginger ale a tint of red and a light flavor of cherries. Great for adults as well as children. Thanks for posting Lvs2Cook and bringing back great memories! Made and reviewed for the Secret Ingredient tag game.

Thank you for this lovely blast from the past. My son loved this drink, when he was young. Made quite a production out of drinking it too. I'll be making him one for Thanksgiving. This was a lovely, fizzy, sweet and gingery drink. Thanks for sharing.

This brought back many memories of being a small child and being allowed to order an "adult" drink... I always felt so grown up when the bartender would hand me my "cocktail"!!! I still love them today... I too always knew this as a Shirley Temple but I love this new modern name too!!!
