I can't say enough about this recipe. It's perfect!!! The veggies are great together and it has the perfect amount of seasoning and spice. The white pepper adds a bit of spice and the jalapenos (I never de-seed) added the perfect amount of heat. I didn't need to add a thing which is very rare. I followed the recipe with the exception on using a green zucchini and reduced the recipe to 5 servings. I'm not sure if I'll be sharing the leftovers. Thanks so much for posting this. I love it.

This is an excellent chowder! I too followed the recipe to a T - it is a tad thick, so I usually substitute either skim milk or evaporated milk for the 1/2 & 1/2. Amazingly good & great flavour. I just read other reviewers suggestion to add clams - so next time I'll throw a can in as well. A must try & real keeper :-)

You could happily walk through a blizzard knowing you were coming home to this soup! Absolutely delicious. I used evaporated milk in place of the half and half and tabasco for the jalapeno and everyone loves it!

This soup is unbelievably good! I made it exactly as recipe stated - very rich. Next time I may use only 1/2 of the half & half & 1/2 milk as the soup is very rich. (but good!) My family loves crab & does not like Imitation Crab, so I was somewhat reluctant to try, I am so glad I did because everyone really loved this soup. (even my Husband who 'thinks' he doesn't like cabbage). I am now looking up all Ospidillo Cafe recipes to see what other gems are out there. Thanks for a great soup recipe!

absolutely fantastic chowder!! I like my chowders thick, so I used skim milk, instead of the half and half (to cut fat) and added some flour to thicken it. My only complaint is that I had a mess to clean up afterwards: my 14 month old son loved it so much that I finally just stopped trying to slow him down with a spoon and let him double fist it into his mouth. I also substituted 3 green zucchinis for the 1 yellow, and it was absolutely perfect, with plenty of leftovers. Thanks for the addition! This is going into permanent rotation!

Right on, Bone Man! This chowder is to die for!!! I was out of cabbage and I subbed green zucchini for yellow, but otherwise made to recipe. Except I did throw in a can of chopped clams. I told everyone it was Clab Chowder!! I made this to take to our church Christmas Dinner and it almost didn't survive the night! I have demands to make it again, only adding shrimp next time as well!

This caught my attention b/c I am a New England transplant, who now lives in Ohio, and VERY much miss all the fresh seafood I used to enjoy while living in Maine for 20 years! Anyway, the dish was fantastic, thanks so much for posting!
