The Edgewood Resort's Thousand Island Dressing

"This dressing recipe comes from the Edgewood Resort in Alexandria Bay, New York, in the heart of the Thousand Islands region. It has been a favorite at the resort for years. Since I have vacationed in Alexandria Bay every Summer since my birth, I just had to post this recipe. I know, I know, there are a million versions of it out there... but this one is really authentic! It's from the Cornwall Recipe Book, published by the Alexandria Township Historical Society."

  1. Excellent. If you enjoy a chunkier dressing, this one is for you! This version is very different from others I have made in the past. I loved the eggs & the olives in this especially. I already have a favorite version of Thousand Island that I also found here on Zaar, but this unique version is every bit as delicious. It is slightly sweet and has an excellent flavor.

  2. This is the real deal. I discovered the recipe years ago after trip to the Thousand Island Inn in Clayton, NY. I love Thousand Island, and I haven't bought a jar of the store junk in years. Great on salads and sandwiches. Very easy to adjust to taste. Try it-you won't regret!

  3. This is an absolutely wonderful thousand island dressing. I just put everything in my food processor and processed it for about a minute and got a great textured dressing. The flavor combination is right on. The only thing I did different was to half the recipe using only 1 egg and added a couple of drops of red food coloring to inhance the color a bit. I used this for looneytunesfan's In-N-Out Double Double recipe #140160. Thanks Kree

I'm a real estate agent in the lovely city of Rochester, New York. That's not what I expected to do with my life. I got my bachelor's in psychology, my masters in literacy education, and I taught high school special education for two years. Then I discovered that helping people find the homes of their dreams was my real passion. I've been doing it for over two years now and still absolutely love my career. Other than that, I have a very spoiled Border Collie mix named Bear that I adopted from a local shelter in spring '08. He's gorgeous and fun and brings me great joy. Now if only I could find a man like that... LOL!
