This is buttery, flaky and easy to make. It makes enough for a double-crust pie.


  1. Mix flour and salt in large bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening to resemble coarse bread crumbs.
  3. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together and is soft but not sticky.
  4. Roll out on floured surface. Bake as per directions for pie. If you need a pre-baked pie crust, bake in oven at 325 degrees for 10-20 minutes, until golden.
