I made this dish last year for Thanksgiving and forgot to rate it! I came back to look up the recipe because I was asked by my daughter to make the same one I made last year. I do recall that I cooked and used fresh whole green beans as we do not have the canned versions available. I also used cream of chicken soup for the same reason....celery soup is not available. Evidently this is a great dish being it was the first dish remembered and requested by my child. Thank you!

I didnt have sour cream, but i had french onion dip. That gave it quite a whollop! Very good stuff. Thanks for posting!

This went over very well at the potluck I brought it to. I used cream cheese (about 5 oz.) instead of sour cream, and cream of mushroom instead of celery, because that's what I had on hand. That said, I found it a little too rich for my tastes. Also, if I do this one again I'll use regular green beans, probably frozen.

I,in error, bought the plain French style green beans. So,I added the following to compensate: Mortons Natures Seasonings,garlic powder with parsley,finely diced fresh onion. Mixed these together in the first layer with the beans. Also added a small abount of Parmesan cheese shavings on top of the cheddar cheese. And last,sprinkled Paprika atop the cheese. Everyone loved it and the unseasoned beans are considerably less expensive! P.S. I did try the plain yogurt in place of the sour cream and that worked nicely. Diana C.

I tried this and was pleasantly surprised with the results. It served 9 adults and 3 kids with hardly any left over and lots of good complements. I will use again. I did add some of my favorite spices to the sour cream soup mixture to jazz it up a little. Easy to make.

My husband really enjoyed this when I made it for our Easter dinner last weekend and it'll be replacing our traditional green bean casserole recipe. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of celery, simply because that's what I had in my pantry. Also, I only used half a package of Ritz, adding a cup of french fried onions to the crackers because I enjoy the taste of the onions and felt this would be a great compromise. The corn adds an interesting 'fresh' crunch to the canned beans. Delicious and super easy to make :)

I thought this came out really well, and I don't even like green beans! However, no one else at our Easter dinner liked it. I was looking for a recipe that didn't use onions, because my father in law is allergic to them, and this fit the bill -- but fell flat with everyone except me. I made the recipe precisely as indicated. It was very easy to make. Thank you!

This casserole is very good. I think I prefer it to the traditional. You could easily spruce it up with some pickled jalapenos or roasted red peppers. I took it to my third Thanksgiving dinner and one guy (a 6'8" German who works in the food industry) had two enormous servings. I will enjoy making this again since it is so easy and so tasty. Thank you!
