The recipe is easy to follow but I have to agree with other reviewers that this is a lot more sugar than needed. I followed the recipe as written but after tasting it I tripled the juice and added more salt. That seemed to help quite a bit. Next time I will just use 1-2 Tbs of brown sugar. Thanks for the recipe
very good soup, i only used about a teaspoon of brown sugar and that was plenty, and my recipe only served about two people, not six to eight, over all, it was very good
This recipe was very easy to follow and the onions came out wonderful, but with all the brown sugar it was way to sweet for us. I'm sorry about that, I've never had an onion soup so sweet before and I've eaten it at every chance. Its a good recipe but I would omit most of the brown sugar next time if not all. Sorry Jessica.
This was such a pretty dish...I wish I had a camera. THis was my first time to make onion soup from scratch. My brown sugar was dark so I only used half of what was called for. I think next time I will dice my onions, I think it would be a little easier to eat. Quick and cheap, too! I loved this soup!
I have always made o.k. onion soup until now. Tonight my whole family thought that this was the best onion soup I have ever made. This is deffinite keeper!
