My family asked me to make waffles for them one sunday morning , I found this recipe on recipezaar and followed the instructions to the tee,and they were the best waffles we had ever had, they literally melted in your mouth. We choose strawberry and whip cream for toppings. This one definately went into our cookbook favorites. Good one Elaine Thanks Rayce.

Yum! Fluffy waffles that are crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. I added vanilla. Thanks for a great recipe!

Light and tasty!!! Easy to make. Prepared the recipe as directed, but did add a bit of vanilla. My "Picky Panel of Judges" gave it 5 stars! Definitely a keeper.

These were really great! I hate waffles that are too thick or cakey so these were perfect. The reviewers who said they were too thin or lumpy didn't follow the directions correctly. Make sure you don't heat the butter too much or it will cook the eggs when you add it in -- maybe that caused people some problems?

This is a very easy and very good waffle recipe. I always add vanilla to mine...adds a different dimension to them. I also recommend that if you make too many..just stick them in a ziploc and freeze them. My son pops them in the toaster for breakfast or lunch...easy, quick, homemade, and tasty snack. He claims the microwave makes them soggy, so that that extra minute in the toaster.

Sign in or create an accountThese waffles were not as good as rated. They were very heavy and did not rise and get nice and fluffy. I've had much better from a generic pancake mix. I would not recommend this recipe if you are looking for light and fluffy waffles.

These ARE the best waffles ever! I served these up with fresh strawberries and bananas and they were delicious. Prepared as directed with the exception that I did add a little vanilla to the batter. I will definitely be making these again and again.

I am an innkeeper and I normally use a yeasted waffle batter which I prepare the night before. I have never made a recipe without yeast that was acceptable.....until now! This is an excellent recipe and I will definitely go to it in the future. The waffles were crispy on the outside and light and delicate on the inside. I tweaked just slightly using 2 T of sugar instead of 2 t and I also added 1 t of vanilla as many others have suggested. Served with maple syrup and fresh blueberries for a true "died and gone to heaven" experience. Thank you for this definite keeper!

I tried this recipe first thing Christams morning with my new belgium waffle maker. Wow it turned out great. I used 2T instead of 2t sugar and only added 1 c milk, and cooked them from 4-5 min. Perfect waffles from start to finish. This recipe is a keeper!!

This was as good as the 20 other people said it was. This is now my permanent waffle recipe. We followed the recipe word by word, except added a teaspoon of vanilla like other reviewers suggested. FYI - We kept our waffles on a preheated pizza stone and that kept them crispy until they were ready to be served.

I agree. The BEST EVER WAFFLES! I usually hate waffles, but these were crispy, light, and delicious. And it was easy to mix up. This was a print worthy recipe that I will keep in my personal favorite recipe collection.

Horrible! These reviews are not real. Stomach still aching from the overabundance of baking powder.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with this recipe. They came out flat and floppy. I'm thinking maybe they were too liquidy even though I followed the recipe exactly. The taste was good.

My family enjoyed these. My husband says he likes to have vanilla in his waffles, so I may add 1 tsp of vanilla next time. These waffles were just the right crispness, not too soggy and not too tough. I kept them on a cookie sheet in an oven at 200 degrees until I was ready to serve them. Thank you!

Unbelievable! I followed recipe exactly except adding 1 tsp vanilla and they were perfect! I have tried MANY 5 star recipes on here, this one the best so far...the batter is VERY runny, like liquid, and I was worried about that, but the picky kids LOVED them! So light and fluffy...had my Cuisinart WAF-6 waffle iron set to level 5(of 6). Thanks for making me look great LOL!

Excellent waffle recipe! This is the one I will use from now on. I mixed ingredients by hand and beat egg whites with my Kitchenaid, then folded them in. I added a tsp. vanilla and upped the sugar to 1 tbsp. They were very light and fluffy-much better than I have had at restaurants as well. Try the cinnamon syrup listed on zaar with these! Excellent on a cold winter day!

These waffles turned out absolutely perfect, browned so nicely and I cooked some a bit longer to crisp them. I did add 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, a nice added flavor. I used my Belgian Waffle Iron, makes 2 waffles at a time. Thank you so much for sharing. I made them 3 times now and will continue in the future. "Uncle Bill"

These waffles are very good. As suggested by podapo, I used 2 tbsp of sugar. Also, I use a combination of oil and butter. These remind me of the waffles my father used to make, which is why I like them so much. The flavor is outstanding.

Wow!! These are the best waffles ever. I did try making pancakes out this batter, they were a little thick so I added additional milk, perfect pancakes. Light fluffy, excellent taste. I will be making this for both my waffle and pancake breakfasts. Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe.

These really are delicious waffles! I left out the salt and added a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Light and fluffy on the inside, soft crust on the outside. Perfect! My family enjoyed them for dinner last night. I made 14 individual waffles with this recipe.
