please dont make this dish! unless sauce that tastes just like what its made of, which is 90% sugar and catsup, sounds good to you. granted, the meat was tender. but there has to be a better sauce.

Didn't include whiskey in the recipe, but it still came out wonderful. Did just as instructions said - boiled, baked covered, and then uncovered. Used 4 lbs. boneless ribs and doubled the amount of sauce. Came out great!!! Will definitely be making again!

Made these yesterday and they were terrific! I didn't have chili sauce, so used a bottled honey bbq sauce I had on hand and added a few shakes of liquid smoke, some cinnamon, allspice, a couple cloves, and a squirt of honey. Also, didn't have whiskey, so used beer. The meat just fell apart. (I wasn't sure about saving the sauce for the hour and a half that the ribs were baking in foil, so I kept it on the stove set on very low.)

Don't know what I did wrong. I followed the directions exactly. Used good quality boneless beef ribs but they were tough as nails. Any feed back would be appreciated.

These were awesome! Just enough sweetness, maybe needs a little more spice. Leftovers are even better.

DELICIOUS! Very tender! I used boneless pork rib meat. I did cook with the foil on for 2 hours at 325 degrees. My boyfriend loved it! I Will make it again, whenever he asks!

The sauce was awesome! I use a different method (sous vide) to prepare the meat. THese worked very well together. Cheers!

Excellent tasting ribs. Easy to make. I reduced the sugar a bit. I also followed all the steps. However, I think the sauce was too thin at the end.

The recipe is good as is, although if I use it again I'll add a bit more heat (spice). I agree with Real Beer Man, this is not a salty sauce. The bulk of the sodium is in the soy sauce, followed by that which naturally occurs in the tomato products. Also, reducing or eliminating the ground mustard in the sauce will lower the overall heat level as mustard seed is a source of heat.

Sign in or create an accountI don't believe mdgoose -- who complains of the saltiness of the recipe -- actually made these ribs. I think that review is based on the sodium content listed in nutrition facts, because after making them myself, I know no one would throw them away, as mdgoose contends. The ribs are delicious.

The sauce is fabulous! A little spicy for my kids, so I reduced the amount of chili sauce. I made it in the crockpot, and it couldn't have been easier! Thanks for a great recipe!

The boneless beef ribs were fine. The sauce, however, was so salty the 4 of us gave up after 2 bites. The nutrition facts list the sodium as 2964mg. Or 123% of what a person needs in 1 day. It has to be higher than that. We threw away $15 worth of ribs it was so bad. Sorry.

OMG...these were the best ribs I ever made. I placed the boneless ribs on my grill to make grill marks, made the sauce and placed ribs, sauce in a crock pot for 6 or so hours. Great part was the leftovers that were reheated the next day were even better tasting then the actual day I made them. My wife told me that this recipe was a keeper and to make it when ever I liked...Totally Delicious!!! :)

I joined RecipeZaar just to rate this recipe! It was fantastic--I tried it in the crockpot. The sauce is amazing. I will make this again, and try the sauce over different meats, in the crockpot and on the grill.

I've not yet eaten the ribs ... they're not done yet .. they could be as tough as shoe leather and I would still be a happy camper. THIS SAUCE IS INCREDIBLE!!! I want to drink it!!! LOLOL The house smells heavenly and oh my goodness, I need to keep my spoon outta the sauce , all three of us love it , it will be my "always have on hand" sauce. I truly cannot imagine going back to a bottled BBQ sauce after eating this. I'll come back and let you know how I like the ribs LOL but the sauce ... oh man!!!!!! Thanks so much for posting this recipe!!

We don't have beef ribs too often, but when we do, this will be the recipe I use from now on. Wonderful flavored sauce clings to the ribs and the result are succulent ribs that are so awesome! Thanks Chef for posting this one! It will be used time and again.
