The Best BBQ Beef (Slow Cooker)

"This is just so good we couldn't stop eating it the first time (and subsequent times) we made it! Savory and perfectly shredded, people beg me for the recipe. The trick is to use a tip roast and cook it in a savory broth."

directions

  • Place roast into slow cooker and pour beef broth over the top.
  • Add the liquid smoke, worcestershire and vinegar, cover and cook on low for 24 hours (you can do less if you want, I usually start it the morning before we need it).
  • Trim any fat from the roast and place back in the slow cooker. With two large meat forks shred the beef into the broth and let it cook for another hour. You can drain the broth off now and pour in your favorite bbq sauce.

  1. This was great. I thought it was great before we put the BBQ sauce on it. Will definitely be making again. Made for Spring PAC 2008.

Mom with two grown kids, daughter 17 and son 22. Daughter is incredibly picky to the point of watching me cook to be sure there is nothing she wont eat in the menu and inspecting each forkfull before she eats it and wont eat anything with onions or the aroma of onions or if there is an onion any where near her food or within 50 miles. Dinners can be very stressful. I absolutely LOVE to cook, and love to try new foods. We lead pretty busy lives, so quick healthy and tasty earns big points. Though not a diabetic I am on the diabetes exchange diet in an effort to drop 20 lbs and I am almost at my goal, only 3 more lbs to go!!
