  • Place butter, shortening, sugar, salt, vanilla and 2 tablespoons milk in a chopper and pulse 4 or 5 times for about 10 seconds each time.
  • Add additional milk 1 tablespoon at a time and pulse until your reach the desired consistency.
  • Make enough frosting for a 2 layer cake or one 9 x1 3 cake.

  1. After having read the other reviews and looking at the recipe I believe the problem with the recipe is that it should read 1/2 c butter OR 1/2 c butter flavor Crisco - not BOTH.
     
  2. This needs about 2-3 cups more powdered sugar and regular Crisco instead of butter flavored...after those alts in the recipe I found it to be pleasing.
     
  3. This frosting could be a lot more sweeter, there was too much shortening/butter in proportion to the icing sugar. It definitely needs more powdered sugar than listed.
