This method of baking potatoes is truly the best. Found this method in an issue of Cuisine at Home magazine.
- Scrub potatoes well as skins are delicious. Dry well and stab to vent.
- Coat clean dry potatoes with olive oil and salt. (I do this in a plastic bag).
- Place potatoes directly on oven rack and bake at 450F for 1 hour or until done.
I love this method (crispy skin). The only difference is I insert a skewer through the potato(s) to ensure quick easy cooking.
Made these for our dinner to go along with beef tenderloin and a green salad...a wonderful and tasty side! This was sooo simple. Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup Tag game.
These were great! I meant to put potatoes in the crockpot this morning before running errands, and forgot, so I searched for a replacement recipe and found this one. Great potatoes! My oven took about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and I put a cookie sheet under them to catch the oil. The skins were nice and crispy. Thanks for sharing!
