This recipe would have been beyond amazing had it not suggested to add TABLESPOONS of each seasoning! I'm wondering if I did something wrong? It came out waaay too salty and spicy- any advice?

Oh wow, was this good! My mom sent me home with a ton of turkey from Thanksgiving and I also had a lot of mashed potatoes to use up. This did the trick and was delicious! I used a creole seasoning that I had in place of the essence mixture. I also subbed about 1 cup of vegetable stock and the rest chicken stock because I already had them open in those proportions. I used a mix of mushrooms. I will definitely make this recipe again. We loved it!

I think this is an improvement over the peas. I also added some chopped celery. I would recommend more of the Essence mixture and more olive oil. It was great reheated in the microwave the next day, too.

For added flavor, substitute your own homemade turkey stock for the canned chicken broth!

What a fantastically simple recipe to follow, and a GREAT way to use up leftovers!! I didn't have any carrots on hand, so I substituted some celery instead. Instead of using 1/2 cup of peas, I used 1/4 cup of peas and 1/4 cup of corn. I didn't have enough cheddar cheese on hand, so I used 1/2 cheddar and 1/2 swiss. Very delicious!!

Great leftover dish. I did add some celery to the mix since I had those in with my leftovers. The flavor was great, and easy to put together.
