Recipe calls for one turnip. The ones I had were rather small so Used two and doubled the white sauce recipe. Shoulda listened. One turnip would have been adequate and had way too much cream sauce. Next time I'll be careful not to overcook the turnips while I'm stirring the white sauce. Other than that it was very good and easy to make for this amateur cook. Will try it again.
This is my new comfort food favorite recipe for Turnips which I get a ton of from my local CSA.
It was okay - kinda bland for my family. My daughter used a Lemon/Herb blend in it and it tasted better. Thanks though - it was worth trying.
I've never liked turnips until I tried this recipe. The secret is in the cooking technique. I served them at my Christmas dinner and am sure they were as good as they are at Thanksgiving! Thanks for this great recipe. Be sure to not make the sauce too thin.
