Thai Style Pork in Black Pepper [moo Pat Prik Thai Dam]

This dish has become popular in thailand few years ago, it has a strong peppery flavors which is quite appealing to the thai taste buds...I just had it for lunch so i thought of sharing it with zaar....enjoy!!

  1. fry garlic in hot cooking oil until fragrant.
  2. add pork and keep stir fry until almost ready.
  3. add onions, ginger, bell peppers, chili peppers, fresh pepper (optional) and liquids.
  4. add fish sauce, oyster sauce sugar and black pepper, taste and adjust flavors.
  5. stir fry for a minute.
  6. serve hot with white rice.

The flavor was outstanding! It was quite saucy though. The next time I make it, I would cook the veggies separately and thicken the sauce. Also, I would love the pork more crispy. I'll definitely make this again with those adjustments!

I doubled the recipe and added 3 tablespoons of fresh chopped Thai basil for the very last step and cooked for about 1 minute longer. Absolutely delicious!!

I thought this was good, SO thought there was too much pepper. I will admit that the black pepper was a very strong flavor, but I happen to really like black pepper. If I make this again, I would cut the black pepper in half to appease SO.
