  1. How delicious this tea bread is! Made the first batch as a trial for Christmas baskets - made 5 mini loaves that cooked in 45 minutes. Toasted 2 cups pecans and chopped coarsely. Used a frozen bag of cranberries I chopped in the Cuisinart. Shared 2 loaves with friends who are re-building our deck - they went crazy (one even said - "wish my wife could cook like this"). The classic orange cranberry sweet is incredibly enhanced by the jalapeno, black pepper & cumin. Oh I used 2 t bruised whole cumin seed that provided a subtle savory element. We ate slices out of hand (wonderful) & then had it with vanilla ice cream - unbelievably good! Plan to toast slices and have with fresh butter in the am. Definitely going into Christmas baskets! TY Claire #3 for a stunning looking delicious unusual addictive little tea bread!

  2. Oh, wow I have a new favorite bread!!! And boy is it GOOD. I've had this saved in my "to try" folder for a couple of years. Just finally bought the Jalapeno jelly so I could make it and I'm so glad I did. I made 4 small loafs so I can share. Only problem the bread fell in the center, not sure why, but it doesn't change the wonderful taste. 5 stars, plus a few more.

  3. Easy and delicious! I used half regular flour and half whole wheat, and used egg substitute for the eggs and canola oil for the melted butter. I also threw in one minced fresh jalapeno. This bread is just incredible! My whole family loves it, even the picky one.

  4. I agree, this bread is addicting! The flavor is so unusual, but definitely in a good way. The tartness of the cranberries combined with the spices makes for a great tasting bread. I will be adding it to my list of favorites. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Awesome! I love this bread! I may use it next year as a gift item. Because I couldn't wait to taste it, I tried to slice it right out of the oven and it crumbled to pieces - but after cooling thoroughly, it slices up nicely. Definitely a keeper for me!

Tweaks

  1. I found the cumin flavor too overpowering & wanted more heat. I cut cumin in half; substituted two chopped jalapenos for the jelly. As is my habit, I used 3/4 whole grain flour & cut the sugar by 1/4c. AMAZING.
