Hearty, tasty and very easy. No pre-soak required.
- 1 lb dried black-eyed peas, sorted and rinsed
- 1 large white onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves (minced or pressed)
- 1 bay leaf
- 12 ounces salt pork
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans low sodium chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 1. Rinse and sort peas in colander.
- 2. Place all ingredients in crockpot.
- 3. Cook at least 7 hours.
- 4. Remove salt pork and bay leaf.
