Terrys Banana Bread

"A wonderful moist bread that brings them back for seconds. Add your favorites, nuts, chocolate chips or raisins for a different flavour. This recipe was handed down to me from my mother who used it for years."

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 4 loaf pans.
  • Combing flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
  • Combine sugar, oil and eggs, beat until frothy. Add bananas and blend. Fold into flour mixture until well blended. Pour into prepared loaf pans and bake for 1 hour.

  1. Wonderful bread! I made half the recipe for 2 beautiful loaves of bread. With one I had no additions to the batter but with the 2nd loaf I used some mini chocolate chips in the batter! This turned out perfectly!!! Made for the Spring '09 Pick A Chef Event! :)
     
  2. We love banana bread, and I had plenty of bananas to use up. This is a terrific recipe! I used whole wheat pastry flour, and subbed applesauce for 1/2 the oil and it came out just great! Thanks for posting your Mom's recipe! Made for Spring PAC 2009
