This is a melt-in-your mouth fall-apart-tender pork roast.
- 1 (3 lb) boneless pork roast
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 3⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- Cut roast in half; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 160°-170°. Remove roast to a serving platter and keep warm. If desired, skim fat from pan juices and thicken for gravy.
I made this the other night for dinner and my 9 yr old loved it! It wasnt my favorite but I am giving it 4 stars b/c my son loved it. I'd give it 3 myself. He gave it a 5.:) He said the flavor reminded him of teriyaki. VERY simple to make and used minimum ingredients. I would definitely use this sauce on chicken in the future.
I have been making this easy pork roast for many years, and enjoy its taste and tenderness. Another reviewer commented on the saltiness. Perhaps they should try a lite soy sauce.
This was an easy and tasty recipe. My only problem was that it was overwhelmingly salty. I followed the recipe exactly, so maybe it was my brand of tomato sauce?
