I made these for a get together yesterday and they were a hit. I loved the combination of flavours and textures. Thanks for sharing.
I was planning to make & share these at a neighborhood get-together, but somehow a majority of them disappeared beforehand & I decided they wouldn't be missed! Absolutely loved these little tasties, & I plan to include them on my finger food counter the next time I host one of my monthly meetings! Definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks for sharing it! Excellent quick appetizer. Three different flavors all packed into a little bite. Sweet, sharp and nutty. You can only eat a few of these guys, they are very rich. I cut the walnut halves into half. They fit into the dates better. I also used the potato peeler to shave of the slices of cheese. Made this for a family gathering. Everyone who tried them gave two thumbs up. Thanks kiwidutch for posting.
Very good! I took these to a rather nice finger food gathering and people loved them. I used a nice vegetable peeler to make long slices of parmesan from the wedge, then cut and broke them to size to fit in the dates. Use as much as you want! Allow extra time to putz around and make these, especially if doubling or tripling the recipe as I did. Also, I would eat them within a few hours of making them.
What a taste experience! I love the sultry, smoky walnut flavour that comes through in combination with parmesan and date. The other reviewers have said it all. A great contribution to a table of appetizers and finger food, and makes an attractive presentation (mine looked like little ships with the shaved parmesan!) Thanks for posting!
I really liked this, but I'd love sawdust stuffed with parmesan! The textural and taste contrasts were very interesting - soft, sweet date, crunchy-fat walnuts and salty-rich parm. I only made 4 of these, but they will be repeated.
I thought this recipe so odd I had to go and try it! I've had stuff dates before, but stuffed with some innocuous, blandish white cheese. Never with parmesan! That's too strong for the dates! But you know what, it's good! I was able to put these together in less than 10 minutes and we had a nice nosh while watching TV late at night.
