      Toast walnuts in a small skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until fragrant, but not browned.

      Slit dates lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through.

      Cut Parmesan into thin shards, about the length of the date.
    4. 4
      Stuff a shard of cheese and a walnut half into each date.

      I was planning to make & share these at a neighborhood get-together, but somehow a majority of them disappeared beforehand & I decided they wouldn't be missed! Absolutely loved these little tasties, & I plan to include them on my finger food counter the next time I host one of my monthly meetings! Definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks for sharing it!       Excellent quick appetizer. Three different flavors all packed into a little bite. Sweet, sharp and nutty. You can only eat a few of these guys, they are very rich. I cut the walnut halves into half. They fit into the dates better. I also used the potato peeler to shave of the slices of cheese. Made this for a family gathering. Everyone who tried them gave two thumbs up. Thanks kiwidutch for posting.
