This was much better than store-bought tartar sauce. I like that it calls for dill pickle and that it lasts longer in the fridge than most homemade sauces do.

This is really good. I made this to go with some baked fish and we loved it. Today I took it out and make a sandwich with the leftover fish and it was even better. The flavors blended so nicely, I plan on using this sauce always. Thank you for sharing.

This was great!!! My mother wanted to mix sweet relish and mayo together and call it tartar sauce! I just whipped some up for dinner and it still tasted great without sitting for a bit. I think I am going to have to try the fish you recommend as well.

Ditto people....can't stand sweet tartar sauce!!Gives me shivers just thinkin about it.This on the other hand was sooo good...and equally as easy to make!Will never have to buy it again.I made 1/2 cp as its only for two of us.I did add ranch powder and fresh pepper.May sound weird but I luv the dipping sauce for the calamari at Olive Garden.Come to find out its a peppercorn ranch!Not a tartar at all...so I thought the same theory would apply...and boy did it!My hubby doesn't care for tartar but he enjoyed this.I made it the night before and let it sit in the fridge.I also added a bit of dill weed and the zest from the lemon that was used for juice.Thx for finally a good tartar!

I made if for fish burgers and it was a huge hit. You're right, the bottled stuff is, well, just overly sweet stuff. This is a keeper! Oh, and thanks for the historical lesson - that's the kind of stuff that I love!
