Grilled tomatoes. From Egyptian Cooking: A Practical Guide. A very simple recipe posted for ZWT 3.
- Wash, dry, then halve tomatoes.
- Arrange in greased oven pan, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and dot with butter.
- Place under grill for 5-7 minutes.
These are tasty but probably needs to be upped more by adding other seasonings/spices. I'll do that next time.
These were a great go along with grilled steaks tonight. I didn't use salt and pepper though. Instead I sprinkled them with Montreal Steak Spice and just grilled them for about 3 mins because the tomatoes were small. The Steak Spice really brought them to life and edged them up to top marks coupled with the ease of preparation.
Yum! Added a little parmasan just because I like it -- broiled on low for a few minutes. Will take other advice and add a little extra spices next time!
